Local assembly operations of the Leapmotor C10 has begun at Stellantis Malaysia’s plant in Gurun, Kedah. This follows a RM25 million investment to retool the existing 60,000 annual capacity manufacturing plant.

CKD units of the Leapmotor B10 will be rolled out in “2 – 3 months time” according to Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN.

To recap, the refreshed Leapmotor C10 PLUS retails for RM148,000 (before ongoing rebates/promotions). Featuring an updated 800V EV architecture, larger 81.9-kWh LFP battery and an increased motor output of 299 PS & 360 Nm.

Thanks to the 800V platform, the C10 PLUS is able to take in up to 180 kW DC input that allows a charging time of 30 – 80% in 22 minutes. On a single charge the D-segment SUV can commute up to 510 km (WLTP).

The B10 on the other hand is offered in 2 variants priced from RM107,800 to RM118,800. The C-Segment SUV rivals the likes of the BYD Atto 3, MG S5 EV and Proton e.MAS 7.

Cycle & Carriage Begins Leapmotor Distribution Operations in Malaysia

Cycle & Carriage will now handle all Leapmotor’s distribution operations in Malaysia as well as handle dealer network expansions to expand Leapmotor’s retail presence in the country.

With this Stellantis Malaysia will focus on local assembly operations & overall brand awareness while Cycle & Carriage strengthen customer experience and retail standards and enhance aftersales capabilities nationwide.

To date, Leapmotor has 12 sales outlets and 6 service locations across Malaysia with more in the pipeline to open by the end of the year.
