Bermaz Auto will preview the all-new third-generation CX-5 at the upcoming KLIMS 2026 (Kuala Lumpur Mobility Show).

First debut in July 2025, the new-generation CX-5 features a “New Generation Emotional Daily Comfort” development concept. Further enhancing on the KODO – Soul of Motion design and the Jinba-Ittai driving experience that customers loved the CX-5 for while improving on the sense of space, everyday usability and ride comfort.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new-gen CX-5 dimensions are larger on all accounts:

2.5L e-SKYACTIV MHEV with Cylinder Deactivation

Only 1 engine option is available for the all-new CX-5 a 2.5L e-SKYACTIV that pairs a 4-cylinder petrol engine to a 24V mild hybrid system (6.5 PS/60.5 Nm). It pushes a combined output of 178 PS & 237 Nm paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

0 – 100 km/h takes 10.5 seconds for the front-wheel drive while the heavier all-wheel drive takes 10.9 seconds.

With cylinder deactivation technology & MHEV, the CX-5 returns a WLTP claimed fuel consumption of 7L/100 km (7.4L/100 km for AWD).

New-gen interior with Big Centre Screen

At the heart of the new interior is a 15.6-inch touchscreen (12.9-inch for lower variants) that houses all the cars main functions including the climate control. It’s an Android-powered operating system with Google built-in that allows you to access Google Gemini, Google Maps and other apps available on Google Play store.

Nice to have features available on the top grade model include 12-speaker BOSE sound system, 7-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and dual-tone interior colours. It remains to be seen which trim level will be offered to our local market.

CBU for now, CKD later

Bermaz Auto Executive Chairman Tan Sri Ben Yeoh has shared earlier at the launch of the Mazda 3 1.5L that the new CX-5 will be launched by Q3 of 2026 in CBU form with CKD operations planned at a later stage.

Prices for the outgoing Mazda CX-5 (KF) starts from RM134,300 to RM177,200 (before ongoing promotions/rebates) and we expect the all-new CX-5 (KM) will be priced in between the top grade CX-5 2.5T and the CX-60 2.5L (RM198,900).

The all-new Mazda CX-5 will be displayed at KLIMS 2026 happening from 12 – 21 June 2026 at Malaysia International Trade Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
