PRO-NET, a subsidiary of PROTON, has just handed over 3 Proton e.MAS vehicles to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) inclusive for the police force to evaluate the usability and suitability of electrified vehicles in their fleet.
The 3 units handed over are Proton e.MAS 5 Premium EV, e.MAS 7 Premium EV and e.MAS 7 Premium Plus PHEV – PRO-NET’s entire model line up.

e.MAS 7 Premium Plus PHEV the Best Choice?
Among the 3 models, the e.MAS 7 PHEV would be the most feasible choice for the convenience of refuelling and extended driving range. Being the Premium Plus variant (RM125,800) it features a larger 29.8 kWh LFP Battery pack that delivers up to 170 km EV range (NEDC) and a total combined range of 1,065 km.

That is significantly more range as compared to the e.MAS 7 Premium Plus EV (410 km WLTP) and e.MAS 5 EV (325 km WLTP).
But most importantly, PDRM officers will still be able to quietly sneak up on suspects with the e.MAS 7 PHEV’s pure EV drive.
Commenting on the initiative, Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid bin Musa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, said: “This evaluation with PDRM is a good opportunity for us to put our e.MAS vehicles into a real-world environment and allow the team to experience them beyond a conventional test drive. With the e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 7 PHEV, PDRM can experience different electrified powertrain options and assess how they perform and fit into their operational requirements.”
